If they "run away" from your garden, they replace all the native plants that need similar habitats and also all the bugs that get their food from native plant vanishes. And they are pretty hard to get rid after they are out of control, it took us three years to get them off from the sides of our driveway. If you want lupines, try to find a variety called Perennis, that is native to Maine. Your yard looks really healthy and green, is nice to see after a couple of dry years. And the ever greens will grow back too after all those sick trees die and fall, you have a lot of new seedlings already. Hoping for a really good summer!
